Bandraíocht, the work

Made to beindividual.

Bandraíocht is the creative world of Irish artist Alanna-Erin, a practice that moves between two hands: lingerie made one piece at a time, and photography made for the woman in front of the camera.

The thread running between them is individuality. Nothing here is produced in multiples, and nobody is asked to become a version of somebody else.

One is made for a body. The other is made for a person.

The story of the name

Bandraíocht

Rooted in the Irish language and associated with the idea of a Druidic priestess, the name represents something ancient, instinctive and powerful.

It speaks to the magic and strength within femininity that is already there, waiting to be remembered and expressed. Bandraíocht is an invitation to discover and express your own version of it.
